If you are planning a move, you may find yourself asking some questions. We believe that it is important for you to have all of the information you need to make sure your upcoming move is done correctly. Below, you will find a list of the most commonly asked questions customers ask our team members. Is your company licensed and insured?

Yes. Irvington Moving Companies is fully licensed and insured for your protection. If you would like our license number or insurance information, please call our office today and we will gladly provide it to you.

Do I need to be at home during the move?

You will need to be present during the move. The reason behind this is because our movers will need to go over paperwork with you and you will need to direct them as to what items will or will not be going with you. Once all of your items have been placed on the truck, you will do a final walkthrough with our movers to make sure no items were missed.

If for some reason you cannot be present or you need someone else to be present for you, please call our office today to discuss your options and steps to take.

Do I need to tip the movers?

That is up to you. Please note that the movers are allowed to receive tips. The amount of money that you tip your movers is completely up to you and should be based on the service you receive and your personal discretion.

Can my animals be in the home on moving day?

You have a couple of options when it comes to your animals on move day. It is recommended that your animals are not loose in the home and are placed in a carrier. If you do not have a carrier for your pets, you may want to see if someone else can watch them or place them in a boarding facility until the move is over.

Do you offer packing services?

Yes. We offer packing services for both your home and your office. If you need help with packing your items, let us know when you schedule your move. We can pack some of your items or all of your items for you.

Can you move all items or are there prohibited items?

Not all items can be moved by our movers and we recommend that you call our office to receive a list of the prohibited items. Some of the items we will not move include cleaning fluids, flammable items, live plants, and more.

Will your movers protect my furniture when they move it?

Yes. Our movers are committed to keeping your items as safe as possible throughout the move. We will take the extra steps necessary to protect your furniture, upholstered items, and valuables.
